Kaitlyn
Kaitlyn is five years old
she was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma Stage IV (At Age 3 and a half) on June the
21st 2003, N-MYC Non-Amplified, unfavourable shimada. With a tumour filling her
abdomen, which had spread to her neck, knees, hips and cells in her bone marrow
lining, she has been placed on a tough treatment protocol (COG ANBL00P1), which
consists of 5 rounds of high dose chemo, surgery to remove as much remaining
tumour as possible, two rounds of mega chemo, with Double Stem cell
Transplants/rescues, followed by 10 rounds of radiation and six months of
Accutane. At diagnosis we were given the terrible odds of less than 20%.
Daniel Hammer
On November 10, 2001, Daniel was
diagnosed with Stage IV Neuroblastoma. The biology of his particular cancer had
all the unfavorable prognostic indicators and he was given a 20% chance of
survival. Since diagnosis, Daniel has amazed us all with his courage, as he has
gone through 5 rounds of high dose chemotherapy, a nine hour surgery, stem cell
(bone marrow) transplant, radiation, antibody treatments and more. Today he
currently has no evidence of disease. Unfortunately, the relapse rate of this
disease is very high.
Please keep praying and believe in your heart that with God's intervention
Daniel will fully recover.

Helana's Story
My name is Helena, I'm 21 years old, I'm from
Pennsylvania. I currently attend college. I'm going into my fourth year this
year. I was diagnosed in 1984 in February, it was actually two weeks prior to
my fifth birthday. I actually celebrated my birthday in the hospital. I had
been sick for several weeks, which led to the diagnosis, and when they finally
figured out what it was, that was two weeks before my fifth birthday.
Throughout, my diagnosis was Stage III neuroblastoma, which is a cancer of the
young nerve cells. I had chemotherapy, radiation and a transplant throughout
that year in 1984. The radiation was used to shrink the tumor down to an
operable size, and the chemotherapy was used to rid my body of what was left of
the cancer.

Hi, my name is Robbin and I have a niece who is now 17yrs old, graduating
with tops honors and is preparing to go on her senior prom. Here name is
Brittany and she was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma shortly after her second
birthday. The tumor was located on her pancreas and liver which originally the
doctors thought would decrease her survival rate. She was treated by one of the
leading doctors in the field of oncology at Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia
but, I always felt it was the power of prayer and the faith of everyone around
Brittany that loved her that brought her thru such an ordeal.
My Incredible Little Girl Katie

I am the mother of a Neuroblastoma survivor, my incredible little girl
Katie. Katie Krize was diagnosed with Stage IV Neuroblastoma on October
1, 1999. Her prognosis at that time was a 25% chance to live 6 months, and if
she made it through her bone marrow transplant, another 25% chance to live six
months after that. Katie not only beat those horrible odds, she is thriving.
Katie made it through five rounds of chemo, major surgery to remove the tumor,
numerous bouts of pneumonia, local radiation to the tumor bed, and a peripheral
blood stem cell transplant. Then, when she recovered from that, she also
endured six months of high-dose Accutane. Katie is now a happy, healthy
fourth-grader in South Carolina.
